Free Cash Money!

Sorry I've been checked out during the Thanksgiving break. We left home early to beat the "blizzard."
Anyway, today's freebie is the best cuz it's free money! A lot of banks offer incentives to open accounts. Of course you always need to check the stipulations-- make sure there are no hidden fees, etc. So I've found a few where you can get hundreds (literally) of dollars just by opening a bank account without having to do much work.
First: US Bank- The logan branch is giving away $75 for opening a checking account. This deal lasts til Saturday. So hurry in!!!!!!!
What you have to do: Go open an account, put $75 into it. Then spend it! US Bank will then put $75 back into your account. So basically they are reimbursing you. You need to keep the account open for 6 months.
How to get the most out of it: Go in with your husband and open 2 accounts. There is $150 that you didn't have before!!!!!

Second: Chase-- Look for the advertisement in the mail. We get one at least once a month. They have a deal where you can open an account and get $100! (pretty sweet!)
What you have to do: Open an account, use your debit card 5 times a month or set your direct deposit to that account.
How to get the most out of it: Put $1500 in the account and leave it there for 6 months. You don't have to do anything with direct deposit or a debit card this way. You get your $100 and that is a pretty good return for $1500 in this economy

If at first you don't Succeed, try, try again

This last weekend I feel like I have participated in more raffles than I have in the last 2 years!I went to Sugar and Spice for their "Super Slumber Party sale" and held out until the very end in hopes of winning a gift basket full of home decor goodies or a $100 gift card to the store. But no luck (aside from the free tree ornament, free wassail, and free christmas chocolates that I shoved in my purse as an emergency chocolate stash-- that I ate this afternoon)
Then I went to Anderson Plant and Seed where they have awesome Christmas trees and decor. They have a give away every year where they, along with other local businesses, raffle off prizes that are worth hundreds of dollars! I put my raffle ticket in to win a fully lit and decorated Christmas tree worth $1500. The lady standing right next to me won :( she had a baby around my little girl's age who was getting pretty fussy when he saw that my little girl had a bottle and he didn't. When the lady won I was like "you can have to bottle! We'll trade!" That plan didn't work.
BUT when I took my husband to The Kutting Egde for his FREE man treatment I entered a drawing for some products and............. I WON! They called me today and told me that I won a bunch of men's hair care products! Sweet!
The products are Eufora so they are really nice and they totalled about $65. But I got them free!

Y'know, a lot of times people skip out on raffles and stuff like that cuz they say "I never win those things." But you have just as good a chance as anyone else in the box, so you might as well try. You may just walk away with something great!

Sugar and Spice is a Home Decor Store here in Logan. It has super cute stuff for the holidays as you can see :)
Tonight they are doing a "Super Slumber Party Sale" from 6pm til 8pm. Show up wearing your Pajamas and you'll get something FREE! If you don't wear your pj's, you can still get 25% off.

Now, I know that some people will feel silly wearing their pajamas to a store, but not me! I'll still be wearing make-up and have my hair done, not like I just woke up and Seriously who am I gonna see there? And if I get something free, it's all worth it!
Sugar and Spice is located at the South End of Logan next to Sears in the Shopping Center with Big 5. See you there in your sleep wear! :)

Turn on your radio on Saturdays!

So yesterday's freebie was free lunch at Lee's marketplace in Logan.
I was listening to the radio and they were advertising a "Holiday Cooking Extravaganza."
Free food, awesome deals on popular things to cook with for the holidays, and cooking demo's. Naturally, I stopped by. They had litterally like 20 sample stands! I sampled tons of stuff like multiple recipes for chex party mix, bacon wrapped water chestnuts, peppermint fudge ice cream, crackers and cheese dips, artisan breads, and tons of meats and cheeses from the deli. It was enough to get really full on! And as always, it was FREE! --It was a zoo, though. And it took a while to get through the line. But good things come to those who wait (in line) and the title of this blog is "I Got it Free!" not "Quick and easy"-- that would be a different blog entirely ;)
Now I know that this has come and gone and so you're probably thinking "this does not help me at all."
However, I learned about this event on the radio. It seems like almost every Saturday there is a car dealership or furniture store or something doing a huge sale. Usually they offer free stuff at these blowouts. So my advice to you is this:
Saturday morning, turn off your Ipod and turn on a popular local station. Listen to the ads and I am sure you will hear of something going on that is offering free stuff!

Free Clothes!!!!!!!!!!

Yes you heard me right!
I received a Kohl's ad with a $10 gift card attached to it in the mail the other day.
I typically toss ads like this cuz you usually have to spend $50 in order to get the $10 savings.
After examining the card, it looked like there was no catch. Just $10 to spend at Kohl's. Sweet!
I stopped by today and hit the clearance racks. I could have been in-and-out in a couple of minutes by grabbing a necklace or something that was $9.99. But I like to get the most out of my free money! I ended up with 3 shirts for Free!
I teach fitness classes and I need some new workout tanks. I got 2 on sale for $3.20 each! They were originally priced at $16.99

Then I got this little number. A dress/shirt (whatever it is, I think it's cute) on sale at $4. It originally cost $44!
I had to pay a few cents in tax, but I consider these clothes free! If you want to get technical, I got two tops for free and got the last one for $.40. Whatever! Plus if I would have bought these shirts when they were full price, I would have spent $78!!!!!!!!!! it was awesome and I didn't have to explain anything to my husband. I walked in the door with my shopping bag and said "Don't worry, it was free!"
Look for this card in the mail. It's purple and stuck to a Kohl's ad. Don't throw it away! If you don't use it, GIVE IT TO ME!

Bountiful Harvest!

It was my cousin's birthday today and last night my sister mentions to him that we should do something fun like go out to lunch. Since I have been feeling a little under-the-weather and also don't like to spend money on going out to eat, I wasn't super into it. But we planned to go to Great Harvest. I figured I could get a cup of soup (since that's the only things that sounds good to me) and they also give you a slice of free bread if your order something. When I go to order they ask me what kind of bread I would like. Then I tell them that I am going to visit my husband at work after and if I could get a piece for him too. They obliged! They also informed me that soup comes with a slice of bread anyway. So I got to pick out another type of bread. I pay for my little cup of soup and get 3 HUGE pieces of pumpkin chocolate chip, cranberry artisan, and cinnimon raisin bread for FREE!
My cousin was late to lunch so while he was waiting in line to order, I talked to one of the employees.
"It's my cousin's birthday today, do you have any little birthday treats or anything"
Great Harvest Employee: "Hmmm we don't really, but I'll come up with something."
A couple of minutes later, she hands me a bag with a big cookie in it for FREE.
Thank you Great Harvest of Center Street in Logan!
You sure know how to treat a customer right, and all I had to do was ask :)
Later I dropped the pumpkin chocolate chip bread off to my husband at work.
Sometimes I like to surprise him like that. Typically, if I were to go buy him a treat that he likes, it usually ends up costing $3-$5! The treat I brought him today was completely free and he liked it just the same!
